New Construction. Three Things to Consider.

First of all understand the builder may not meet the expected close date. It could be because of poor planning or bad weather. Either way as the buyer you need to keep this in mind as you plan your own move. You need to have a strategy in place in case the Seller requires an extension of the closing date.

An extended closing date may cause you issues with your lender. You may be faced with increased closing cost in the form of rate lock extensions. Most likely the Seller is not going to help with this cost.

Since the unit is not done you need a detailed finish schedule to include with the P and S. Make and model for kitchen appliances, decking material, bathroom fixtures and accessories, type of molding and trim work, what kind of counters, dimmer switches and paint colors, etc
